I praise God for Kristen. She has carried three of our children and has persevered as my wife. And though we've only been married four years, I think I'm learning more and more with each passing day that God gives us spouses for our sanctification, to make us more like Him. Being married to Kristen has humbled me and made me realize that I am not as patient as I should be, that I am not as strong as I need to be, that I am often not as thoughtful or considerate as I ought to be. In short, my marriage has shown me how imperfect I am - and that is a good thing.

God has used my marriage to Kristen to show me that I am always in constant need of His grace. The Lord has used my wife to shape and mold me through the joys and trials of our relationship together. He has taught me through tangible ways what it means for husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25). I think I can say that my marriage to Kristen has made me more aware of God's mercy and kindness, of His daily and abundant grace for sinners. And although neither of us is perfect by our own merit, God has made us perfect in Christ.

In His sovereignty, God has used my marriage to Kristen for our good and His glory.

Soli Deo Gloria
